Guidelines for publishing research articles in the Afghanistan Research Journal-Natural Science

(Herat University)

Introduction

Types of accepted articles for the publication in this journal:

  • Scientific research articles
  • Promotional articles
  • Articles and case studies
  • Short scientific reports

All submitted articles should be according to the APA 7th edition. Here are some guidelines to the authors need to consider when writing and submitting their manuscripts:

  1.     The submitted manuscripts to this journal must not be published elsewhere or accepted for publication.
  1.     The article’s length ranges from 5000 to 8000 words (including references).
  2.     The abstract must not exceed more than 250 words, including keywords at the end.
  3.     The font requirement is Times New Romans, 12 font size, single-spaced, and 1-inch margins on the left and right sides.  
  1.     Additional formatting guidelines are as follows:

               Headings

               Level 1: Centered, Boldface, Uppercase, and Lowercase Headings

               Level 2: Left-aligned, Boldface, Uppercase, and Lowercase Heading

               Level 3: Indented, boldface, lowercase heading with a period. Begin body text after the period.

               Level 4: Indented, boldface, italicized, lowercase heading with a period. Begin body text after the                      period.

  1.   The title of article should not exceed 12 words. In the continuation of the title, the authors' names, field of study, position, and respective organization should be mentioned in detail.
  1. The main text of the article should be arranged in the order of the following titles:
  • Introduction (Includes problem statement, background, and purpose of the research);
  • Hypothesis (quantitative approach) and research question(s);
  • Research methodology
  • Findings
  • Conclusion
  • References
  1. The submitted file should be in Microsoft Office Word or Open Office.
  2. Tables should be submitted separately to the journal in a separate file with its title. All tables must be numbered clearly, and their numbers should be mentioned in the original text. Details and data descriptions of a table should be clearly written at the end of the table.
  3. Figures also should be submitted separately in separate files The descriptions of each of them should be written in detail at the below of them in double-spaced form.
  4. Reference section is written in alphabetical order and should follow APA 7th edition. 
  5. The privacy regulations and copyright policies should be observed by the authors and ARJ is not responsible for any items taken by authors illegally from somewhere else.
